This year we reached a milestone. Neither boy even hesitated when it was time to sit on Santa’s lap! Sean, however, was having issues with his sleeves and insisted we roll them up really far!

Build-a-Bear
While Mimi and Papa were here we went to Build-a-Bear so Sean could use his birthday gift cards. Ian decided to take some of his spending money so he could get a bear also. They had a great time!
Sean’s New Bike
Sean used his birthday money to buy a new bike. He chose a Toy Story bike and thoroughly enjoyed trying it out!
The Parade of Trees
While Mimi and Papa were here we were able to go to the Hyatt downtown and see the Parade of Trees. The trees were beautiful, and we had a wonderful time looking at them!
Lowe’s Train Project
Ian and Sean always enjoy doing the projects at Lowe’s, but this Christmas was especially exciting! They are working on building a train. The first week they built the caboose, and Papa was there to help.
Sean’s 4th Birthday
I can’t believe our baby is already 4! This was the first year that both sets of grandparents were able to be here for his birthday. We had a Toy Story theme, and Sean was especially excited to get Woody and Buzz!
School Fall Party
Ian’s class had a fun party right before Thanksgiving. He enjoyed dressing up as an Indian again this year. The students rotated through four activities. They decorated a pilgrim’s hat made out of a cookie topped with a marshmallow and then dipped in chocolate. They also made Indian corn with a cookie, frosting, Reese’s Pieces, and a fruit roll-up. The craft was a turkey made out of thumbprints, and then they played a game. One student had to give directions to a blindfolded student to help him find the New World. The kids all had a great time, and even Sean got to go!

Final Soccer Game
The Lions had a tough season but did a great job! Last spring they were still in the youngest league and were experienced enough to win most of the time. This season they had to move up a league. They faced some really tough teams! They learned a lot and worked very hard. They are already looking forward to next season!
Truth Trackers Skate Night
We had so much fun roller skating at the Truth Trackers skate night! This was Ian’s second time, and he really likes it! Jeff, of course, is a fantastic skater! I’m not terrific, but I can hold my own. The only problem was that children kept falling right in front of me causing me to trip!
Halloween 2010
This year for Halloween Sean wore one of my old costumes that my Aunt Brenda made for me. He looked so sweet! Jeff said they got a lot of comments as they went around the neighborhood. I stayed home to pass out candy and tracts. Over 200 children came to our door. I finally had to turn the lights off when I ran out of candy!
Trunk or Treat
Chick-fil-A and a church in Fountain Inn sponsored a “Trunk or Treat” the day before Halloween. The kids walked around a large square and went from trunk to trunk collecting candy. They also had popcorn, cotton candy, and some fun bounce houses. The boys had a blast!

Sean the Artist
Sean and Ian were busy drawing while we were enjoying a party at the home of a couple in our Sunday school class. Sean told me that this was a picture of a man knocking on a door. I can totally see that! :-)
BJES Open House
Each year Bob Jones Elementary chooses a day that parents and grandparents can come observe for the morning. We were able to see Ian play a math game with Sawyer, do his seatwork, and participate in reading group. We also went to music class with him and ate lunch in the cafeteria.
Emma’s Party
Emma Blankenship invited Sean to her 4th birthday party. It was a Jesse from Toy Story party. All the kids came dressed in western gear. Sean especially liked the pinata!
Father/Son Campout
Jeff and Ian went to the Father/Son Campout again this year and had a great time! The only part they didn’t like was the cold!
Stuck in the 80s!
Our friend Rachel King threw an 80s-themed birthday party for her husband Keith’s 40th birthday. We did our best to dress up, and even the boys joined in. However, our outfits didn’t even begin to compare with some of the others!
Happy Cow
Happy Cow Creamery was celebrating a big anniversary, so we decided to go! We had hot dogs with milk, of course! We also got to eat some samples, play some games, and feed the cows.

Ian is now in first grade! On Friday, right after we got home from vacation, we headed to his open house. He was able to meet Miss Dunn, organize his desk, and even do an art project! Then on Monday he left for his first day of first grade. As usual, he loves school!
Water Park
Mimi and Papa took us to the Wilderness at the Smokies water park. Aunt Abby, Zac, and Trenton went also. We had a great time! The boys were really brave and went down every slide that they were big enough to use. They also enjoyed the “paint your own pottery” place. We definitely need to go back!
Indiana State Fair
The Indiana State Fair is definitely one of our favorite activities. We went last year for the first time in years. Ian loved it and wanted to go back this year. We went twice and still didn’t see everything! Maybe next year we can go three times!

Ian and Sean love Chuck E. Cheese! Mimi took us to one while we were in Indianapolis. We enjoyed pizza, games, prizes, and even seeing Chuck himself!

We had so much fun downtown Indy with Nana, Grandad, and Aunt Brenda! We went to the Glick Indiana History Museum and then walked around the canal.

Swim Lessons
Ian took swim lessons for the first time last summer. He has made amazing progress since then!
We decided to let Sean try it this year. He did really well! Toward the end of most of the lessons he tended to be more interested in play time, however!
July 4th Weekend
We had a wonderful July 4th weekend! Sunday afternoon we had lunch, activities, and a soccer game at church followed by an afternoon service. Then that evening we headed downtown for the fireworks. Ian made it through them this year, but Sean still ended up in Spill the Beans!
The next day we met our dear friends, the Walkers, in Charlotte. We went to IKEA, the Talbot’s Outlet, and Concord Mills. It was so much fun being able to spend time with them again!

Ellenberger Park
While most of the family was in Indianapolis for Mama’s 90th birthday, my cousin Matt and his wife Stephanie had a birthday party for their little girls Bella and Madison. We met at Ellenberger Park where many of us played as kids. It was so much fun to see family that we hadn’t seen in quite a while. The boys liked the pinata the best!
