Sean’s First Soccer Game

Sean decided that he wanted to play soccer this fall, and Jeff ended up coaching! I truly think the Tigers were the cutest soccer team out there!

Second Grade

Ian is in second grade this year! He loves his teacher, Mrs. Sweeting. We enjoyed meeting her at the open house. Ian was very proud of his new Star Wars backpack and lunch box!

Indianapolis

Ian, Sean, and I were able to spend some time in Indianapolis this past summer. We had a great time with family and friends. They especially enjoyed the Monon waterpark! It was also fun meeting Sarah Hutcheson and her girls at IKEA. We were even able to end the trip with a quick trip to the Wilderness at the Smokies waterpark in Sevierville.

Family Camp

This past summer, our church put on its own family camp for the first time. We had a wonderful time hearing God’s Word, spending time together as a family, and hanging out with friends.

Vacation

My parents’ 40th anniversary was on November 20. We celebrated as a family back in May. We spent time at Disney World, on Sanibel Island, and in Savannah. It was definitely a trip we will never forget!

Truth Trackers Program

Each May, our church’s Truth Trackers kids put on a program. Ian was in Scripture Spies, and Sean was in Tiny Trackers. This was Sean’s first program, and he had a lot of fun doing it!

Ian’s Awards Program

Ian had a wonderful year in first grade. He learned a lot, had fun with friends, and loved his teacher, Miss Dunn! At the awards program he earned the citizenship award as well as the scholarship award.

Ian’s Birthday

Ian turned seven this year, and we had a fun time celebrating with Nana and Grandad!

Ian’s Chapel Program

In May, Ian’s first grade class presented a chapel program about growing in Christ. They all did such a good job! After their program the Foundation Brass ensemble did a concert. Needless to say, it was an exciting day to be at chapel!

Easter 2011

The day before Easter, Ian and Sean went to a fun activity. They decorated eggs as well as a cookie and enjoyed a puppet show and face painting. There was also had a huge Easter egg hunt outside. They looked so handsome the next day at church!

Sean at the Zoo

Sean and I had a fun day at the zoo with some friends from church!

Construction Site Visit

We have thoroughly enjoyed watching our new worship center being built! Back in April we were able to take a tour. Mimi, Papa, Jeff, the boys, and I all walked through the building. Everyone except Mimi climbed the ladder to see the second story. It was a little scary coming down the ladder, but we all made it!

Boone, North Carolina

During spring break we went with Nana and Grandad to a little chalet in Boone, NC. It was a beautiful area! The boys especially enjoyed the spiral staircase in the chalet and the original Mast General Store.

Fun with the Guillens

In March, our dear friends Newton, Loraine, and Isabel Guillen came for a visit. We had such fun showing them our home, our church, Bob Jones University campus, the elementary school, and downtown Greenville. The only problem was that their visit was way too short!

Rodeheaver Field Trip

Ian’s class went on a walking field trip to Rodeheaver Auditorium, and I had the privilege of being one of the chaperones. They sat in the green room; learned about costumes, masks, and wigs; heard the organ; rode in the orchestra pit; and saw some cool special effects.

Bella’s Birthday Party

Ian’s friend, Bella Sanders, had a 7th birthday party. We all went and had a great time! The boys especially enjoyed riding the horse!

Dr. Seuss Project

Project

In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the first graders each did a Dr. Seuss project. They had to come up with a rhyming phrase and then illustrate it. Ian chose to do “A Skunk in My Bunk.” He made a shoebox to look like his bed and then created a skunk out of clay to sit on the bed.

Toothless Ian

Ian

In February, Ian lost both of his top front teeth!

First Soccer Game–Spring 2011

The Lions are working hard again this spring! For the first time ever they are wearing something besides red! Woo hoo!

BJA Unity Game

Next year the elementary school, junior high, and high school at Bob Jones will be combining to form Bob Jones Academy. To get things started, they had something called a Unity Game – a basketball game between varsity guys and faculty men as well as varsity girls and faculty ladies. This was the first time the school has ever  had a combined activity for grades 1-12.

Ian had a great time and can’t wait to be an “Academy” student next year!

Sean as Darth Maul

Jeff is a huge Star Wars fan, so naturally Ian and Sean have become interested as well. Sean likes to dress up as Darth Maul. He even came up with a way to create a double light saber!

Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve was a lot of fun this year. Almost all the extended family was able to be there as well as some dear friends. Little did we know that it would be Uncle Don’s last Christmas which makes these pictures even more special.

After the family left, we opened presents with Nana and Grandad. Then on Christmas morning the boys got to open their stockings and presents from us.

We then left as quickly as we could to head over to Mimi and Papa’s house for all the Christmas Day events.

As you can see from the pictures of the loaded car, we were very blessed this year!
